As Passed the House

HB 2323 makes a technical correction relating to health professions (A.R.S. 32-3102).

HB 2323 has a proposed strike-everything amendment.

HB 2323 amends A.R.S. 20-181 and A.R.S. 20-182 by including the legislative sponsor of bills favoring mandated health care coverage or offered coverage to ensure that the social and financial impact reports are submitted to the committee assigned to hear that bill.

Provisions

·        Requires a legislative sponsor of a bill that mandates health coverage to submit a social and financial impact report to the committee assigned to hear the proposal.  Existing law only requires organizations advocating in favor of the proposal to submit this report.

·        States that if the legislative sponsor or an organization advocating in favor of the proposal fails to submit a report to the committee, the chairman of the committee must request the Joint Legislative Budget Committee (JLBC) to prepare the report within six months of the chairman’s request.

·        Makes technical corrections.

HB 2323 failed to pass the Financial Institutions and Insurance Committee.
