HB 2314 appropriates state general fund monies in FY 2001-02 for numerous programs related to elderly care.

 

Provisions

·                      Appropriates the following amounts from the state general fund in FY 2001-02:

·                      $4 million to the Department of Economic Security (DES) for non-medical home and community-based services to the elderly.

·                      $776,775 to the Office of State Long-Term Care Ombudsman to monitor those elderly residents in adult foster care, adult care homes and other care facilities for the elderly.

·                      $500,000 to DES for the statewide Respite Care for Care Givers of the Elderly Program.

·                      Blank sum to DES for Adult Protective Services.

·                      States that all of the amounts are exempt from lapsing.

 

HB 2314 was amended in the Human Services Committee as follows:

·                      Splits the appropriations over FYs 2001-02 and 2002-03.

·                      Appropriates $1,361,612 from the state general fund in each of FYs 2001-02 and 2002-03 to DES for Adult Protective Services.
