HB 2274 requires that the sheriff or keeper of a jail to accept a bond payment from any person.

History

            Current law does not require a sheriff or keeper of a county jail to accept bond payment from anyone other than a person authorized to post bonds in that county.

 

Provisions

·                      Requires the sheriff or keeper of a jail to accept a bond payment from any person.

 

HB 2274 was amended in the Judiciary Committee as follows:

 

·                      Deletes list of acceptable forms of payment.

 

·                      Makes technical and conforming changes.

 

HB 2274 passed the Committee of the Whole with an amendment as recommended by the Judiciary Committee.
