As Passed the House

Appropriates $350,000 from the state general fund in FY 2001-2002 to the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission.

History

The Arizona Criminal Justice Commission is currently applying for a $3.6 million grant from the U.S. Department of Justice.  This grant will enable the Commission to complete its criminal justice records integration project.  The project would create a statewide system of criminal records accessible by all Arizona law enforcement agencies and courts.  The Commission is requesting that Arizona match 10 per cent of the federal grant monies.

Provisions

·                      Appropriates $350,000 from the state general fund in FY 2001-2001 to the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission to match federal monies for the criminal justice records integration project.

·                      Exempts the appropriation from lapsing as provided for in ARS section 35-190.  This allows the Commission to use any remaining monies in the fund after the end of FY 2001-2201.
