HB 2263 outlines the procedure for establishing a provisional management area for the purposes of withdrawing groundwater.

A proposed strike-everything amendment to HB 2263 will be offered in the Health Committee. The proposed strike-everything amendment allocates $50,000 to the Governor's Office of Highway Safety to provide bicycle helmets to low-income youth.

Provisions

· Appropriates $50,000 from the state general fund in FY 2001-2002 and 2002-2003 to the Governor's Office of Highway Safety for the distribution of bicycle helmets to police officers and sheriffs to give to low-income children.

· Exempts the appropriation from lapsing.

The strike-everything amendment to HB 2263 was adopted unamended in the Health Committee.
