HB 2249 modifies the distribution of resources that are appropriated to the Arizona Corporation Commission to allow for the funding of general administration and legal expenses of the Commission.

 

History

Current law does not allow the Public Access, Utility Regulatory or Securities Regulatory and Enforcement funds to be allocated for the general administrative and legal expenses of the Commission.

 

Provisions

·        Allows monies from the Public Access Fund to be allocated for a part of the general administrative and legal expenses of the Commission.

·        Expands the number of employees who can receive compensation from the Utility Regulation Revolving Fund to include attorneys and other legal staff.

·        Expands the annual assessment by the Commission against public service corporations to include a part of the administration, hearing and legal division’s expenses.

·        Allows monies from the Utility Regulation Revolving Fund to be allocated for a part of the general administrative and hearing divisions expenses of the Commission.

·        Allows monies from the Securities Regulatory and Enforcement Fund to be allocated for a part of the general administrative and hearing expenses of the Commission.

·        Contains technical and conforming changes
