This bill as introduced contains an Appropriation clause.

As Passed the House

HB 2238 continues the appropriation of $500,000 per year towards programs providing detoxification services to counties with a population lesser than or equal to 500,000 persons.

History

Current statute has AHCCCS administering up to $500,000 dollars per fiscal year towards pilot programs providing detoxification services to counties with a population of 500,000 persons or less.  All counties, except for Pima and Maricopa, would be eligible to receive these monies based on current population estimates.

Provisions

·                      Changes current appropriation to a fixed $500,000, instead of up to $500,000, to be used for programs that provide detoxification services to counties with a population lesser than or equal to 500,000 persons.

·                      Makes the appropriation annual.

HB 2238 was amended in the Health Committee as follows:

·        Administers monies only to counties that have been providing detoxification services for the past twenty-four months.

·        Adjusts the funding annually for inflation.
