HB 2207 appropriates $6 million from the state general fund to the Arizona Board of Regents to build a higher education science complex at Arizona Western College.
Currently, Arizona Western College, University of Arizona and Northern Arizona University are members of a Higher Education Partnership that serves residents of Southwest Arizona. Under the partnership, Arizona Western College provides the first two years of both universities baccalaureate degree programs and NAU and the U of A offer the final two years of the four-year degree programs as well as graduate degree programs.
HB 2207 appropriates $6 million from the state general fund to the Arizona Board of Regents to build a higher education science complex at Arizona Western College. The total cost of the science complex is estimated at $10 million. Arizona Western College will commit $1 million to the project and the remaining $3 million will be raised from the communities in western Arizona. Both the college and university programs will use the science facility.
