House Bill 2186 contains a technical correction relating to public utilities.

 

The proposed strike-everything amendment to House Bill 2186 establishes a study committee to review energy issues in the state of Arizona.

 

Provisions

·                      Establishes a joint legislative study committee on Arizona energy assurance.

·                      Outlines membership:

-         Three members appointed by the President of the Senate, one being the chairman of the Commerce committee.  No more than two appointees can be from the same political party.

-         Three members appointed by the Speaker of the House, one being the chairman of the Energy, Utilities and Technology committee. No more than two appointees can be from the same political party.

·                      Specifies what issues are to be studied.

·                      States that by December 15, 2001 a report on the activities and recommendations of the committee be submitted.

·                      Stipulates that this act is repealed from and after December 31, 2001.
