House Bill 2182 increases the fines for driving under the influence (DUI) and extreme DUI.

 

Provisions

·                      Increases the fine from $250 to $500 for the first DUI offense.

·                      Increases the fine from $500 to $750 for the second DUI offense within sixty months of the first offense.

·                      Raises the fine from $250 to $500 for the first offense of Extreme Driving Under the Influence (EDUI).

·                      Raises the fine from $500 to $1000 for the second EDUI offense.

·                      Makes technical and conforming changes.

 

The Committee on Transportation adopted the strike-everything amendment.

 

The Committee on Transportation amendment was adopted by the Committee of the Whole.
