HB 2140 allows a school district to petition the Department of Education to adjust the districts adjusted average daily membership for absences that relate to threats of violence against school property, school personnel or students for any period of one day or more.

 

History

Under current law the adjusted average daily membership may be adjusted only if school attendance is effected for three consecutive days due to widespread illness, adverse weather conditions, or a concerted refusal by students to attend classes.

 

Provisions

·        Allows a school district to petition the Department of Education to adjust the districts adjusted average daily membership for absences that relate to threats of violence against school property, school personnel or students for any period of one day or more.
