AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE OFFICE OF TOURISM FOR RENOVATION OF THE FORMER PHOENIX INDIAN SCHOOL FOR A NATIVE AMERICAN CULTURAL AND TOURISM CENTER.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Appropriation; purpose; exemption
A. The sum of $500,000 is appropriated from the state general fund in fiscal year 2001-2002 to the office of tourism for renovation and capital improvements to the former Phoenix Indian School to establish a Native American cultural and tourism center. The office of tourism may use up to ten per cent of the appropriated monies for oversight and administrative costs.
B. The appropriation made in subsection A of this section is exempt from the provisions of section 35-190, Arizona Revised Statutes, relating to lapsing of appropriations.
