AN ACT

MAKING APPROPRIATIONS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SERVICES FOR IMMUNIZATION PROGRAMS.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1. Appropriations; purpose; exemption

A. The sum of $500,000 is appropriated from the state general fund in each of the fiscal years 2001-2002 and 2002-2003 to the department of health services, $425,000 for community immunization programs at community health centers as determined by section 330 of the federal public health service act and $75,000 to maintain a partnership with the private health care sector to improve the delivery of immunizations in this state and to maintain public awareness of the need to fully immunize citizens against vaccine preventable diseases.

B. The appropriations made in subsection A of this section are exempt from the provisions of section 35-190, Arizona Revised Statutes, relating to lapsing of appropriations.
