ARIZONA STATE SENATE
Phoenix, Arizona
county dog licensing
Allows veterinarians to
submit rabies vaccine certificates directly to county enforcement agencies for
dog licensing purposes. Changes the
required timeframe for submitting rabies vaccination certificates to county
enforcement agencies.
In order to receive a dog
license, a dog owner must present county animal control officials with a rabies
vaccination certificate signed by a veterinarian. This bill allows veterinarians to provide the certificate to
animal control offices directly. This
bill also changes the required timeframe in which rabies vaccination
certificates must be submitted to county animal control offices. Currently, state law requires that a copy of
the rabies vaccination certificate be provided to county animal control
officials on or before the tenth day of the month following the dog’s
vaccination.
There is no fiscal impact
associated with the provisions of this bill.
