1998, Chapter 280 revised most statutory language to terminate community
property rights when a decree of dissolution of marriage, legal separation or
annulment is filed. One section was
inadvertently left out. The proposed
legislation eliminates a subsection requiring a court order to terminate
community property rights after a decree of legal separation is filed.
1. Eliminates obsolete language regarding a court order terminating community property rights after a decree of legal separation is filed.
2. Makes technical changes.
3. Provides for a general effective date.
