SB 1316 stipulates that a person serving a probation term involving domestic violence or a felony offense is classified as a “prohibited possessor” of weapons.
The current definition of “prohibited possessor” of weapons includes anyone serving a term of probation, parole, community supervision, work furlough, home arrest or release or anyone serving probation or parole pursuant to the interstate compact as described in statute. Possession of a weapon by a prohibited possessor is a class four felony.
