HB 2499 establishes a rural economic development study committee to study and make recommendations to improve economic development in rural Arizona.

 

Provisions

·                      Establishes a rural economic development study committee and stipulates who is to serve on the committee.

·                      Requires the committee to:

1.      Elect a chairperson from among its members.

2.      Examine the economic trends that are shaping development in rural Arizona.

3.      Examine federal and state policies that affect rural economic development.

4.      Examine land use and housing policies and their impact on rural economic development.

5.      Examine current rural economic development policies in this state and other states.

6.      Report its findings by December 1, 2001.

·                      Repeals the study committee on December 31, 2001.
