Appropriates monies to the Department of Health Services (DHS), for a demonstration project, from the emergency medical services fund.

 

History

 

The emergency medical services operating fund was established in 1983.  Money deposited into the fund comes from the collection of fines given for various traffic violations.  DHS is to expend the money for funding local and state emergency medical services systems.  Money in the fund is subject to annual legislative appropriation.  In 1999, $1.25 million was appropriated for emergency medical service projects in rural areas.

 

Provisions

·                      Appropriates $100,000 in FY 2000-2001 to DHS from the emergency medical services operating fund for a demonstration project for central medical direction for emergency medical services, subject to the availability of funds.

·                      Exempts the appropriation from lapsing of appropriations.
