HB 2474 increases the value of municipal real property that can be sold without a special election.

 

History

Currently, ARS §9-403 states that a city or town shall not sell real property of the municipality that exceeds a specific value a special election.  This was raised from twenty-five thousand dollars to one hundred thousand dollars approximately thirty years ago.  The sale may proceed at a public auction if a majority of the ballots cast are in favor of selling the property.

 

Provisions

·                      Increases the value limit of real property of a city or town that may be sold without an election to $500,000.
