Abstract for HB 2618
(insurance fraud)

HB 2618 increases the penalty for unlawful solicitation of a tort
victim at the scene of any accident from a class 1 misdemeanor (6
months/$2,500) to a class 6 felony (1 yr/$150,000).
HB 2168 establishes that knowingly employing, using or acting as a
runner, capper or steerer to procure clients with the intent to
perform or obtain services under a contract of insurance or to
assert a claim against an insured is a violation of ARS 20-463. A
person who violates this section is guilty of a class 6 felony.
HB 2618 passed the Banking and Insurance Committee unamended.
