AN ACT
AMENDING SECTION 41-1829.01, ARIZONA REVISED STATUTES; RELATING TO THE
ARIZONA PEACE OFFICERS MEMORIAL BOARD.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Section 41-1829.01, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended
to read:

Arizona peace officers memorial board; duties
The Arizona peace officers memorial board shall:
1.
BE AUTHORIZED TO
add to the memorial at least annually the names of all members of the law enforcement community in this state who have lost
their lives in the line of duty and provide for a dedication ceremony which
commemorates the addition of their names.
2. Plan and provide for the maintenance of the peace officers
memorial.
3. Solicit private monetary donations for deposit in the Arizona peace
officers memorial fund.
4. Report annually to the president of the senate and the speaker of
the house of representatives on the progress of the memorial.
5. Determine those persons who are eligible for the tuition waiver
pursuant to section 15-1808 and report the determination to the
ARIZONA
board of regents or to the state board of directors for community colleges, as
applicable.
6. USE THE MONIES DEPOSITED IN THE ARIZONA PEACE OFFICERS MEMORIAL FUND ESTABLISHED BY SECTION 41-1829.02 FOR PERSONS WHO ARE ELIGIBLE FOR THE
TUITION WAIVER PURSUANT TO SECTION 15-1808 TO PAY FOR
TUITION, IF TUITION HAS NOT BEEN WAIVED, AND OTHER EDUCATIONAL EXPENSES INCURRED AT A COMMUNITY
COLLEGE OR A PUBLICLY OR PRIVATELY FUNDED COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY OR TECHNICAL
SCHOOL.
