Joint Legislative Oversight Committee on Residual Contamination of Drug Properties

 

PURPOSE:     To: (1) review and forward to the State Board of Technical Registration the best practices and standards submitted by the Attorney General for the remediation of residual contamination found on real property from the manufacture of, or the storage of chemicals or equipment used in manufacturing methamphetamine, Ecstasy or LSD, and (2) study and make recommendations regarding the effectiveness of the clandestine drug laboratory clean-up program established by A.R.S. 12-1000.  The Committee shall submit a report of its findings and recommendations to the Governor, the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives on or before December 15 of each year, and provide a copy of this report to the Secretary of State and the Director of the Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records.

Notes:  The Committee shall annually elect a Chair from among its members.  The Attorney General shall submit to the Committee best practices and standards for the remediation of residual contamination found on real property from the manufacture of, or the storage of chemicals or equipment used in manufacturing, methamphetamine, Ecstasy or LSD.  The Board of Technical Registration shall adopt the best practices and standards for remediation by rule not later than July 31, 2003.
